Since the cosmic poppies I've done some pure watercolour but I've also been inspired to try something new.
First the pure watercolour, Birthday Lilies seemed like a battle when I was working on it but turned out well in the end.
Birthday Lilies
15" x 11"
Then I had a couple of absolute disasters which I won't torture you with, they really were terrible! I discovered the blog of an old friend, Emily Lagore, who has inspired me to try altered books/journalling, but I had to get materials before I could start so no progress on that beyond the shopping :D
More in my next post!

Love the colors and shapes in this painting, Ruth.
Hello Ruth:) Your lillies are just perfect. I love your loose style.
Disasters we all have. It's part of the game!

Just amazing!
You're brilliant in your Art. Don't sweat that you've not been updating your blog often. :) Just keep posting though. Cause your followers would be devastated if you stopped all together

Ruth,
I cant imagine any of your work turning out terrible. These lilies are beautiful and your poppies are stunning, thanks for the step by step.
I truly appreciate all of these lovely comments, thank you everyone!
I'm sure everyone who paints has failures where things just don't work. I'm learning that I have to think and plan far more because the paintings which fail are usually the ones I started just because I wanted to paint. Impatience is my enemy!
